Roses & Chocolates

It's a lovely rainy day. And in a lovely mood too. That also means it's the right time for another post! Well I received a surprise gifts delivery this morning. A bouquet of fresh roses and a box of Ferrero Rocher from my dear sisters and lil brother. Though it's already April 24th (and there are 24 roses as well.. hehe!), but still, it's not too late for a lil birthday surprise, aite? Hehehe... Thank God that I'm totally blessed with wonderful siblings and a beautiful life :)

Receiving roses & chocolates from a guy might be a BLAH to most women nowadays but it's never a "NO" if you received it from your loved ones. To be honest, this awesome combo has never failed to make my day :D

Who else in this world would care about you more than your spouse and family?

Anyway, making other people HAPPY is indeed essential in Islam in order to gain Allah's love. And it seems that important people in my life are always trying their best to keep me happy. May Allah protect and shower them with His infinite blessings! LOVE.

Growing Older Gracefully

We want to live longer in this world but often scared of getting older... Why is that so? Alhamdulillah, I'm turning a year older now :)

Anyway, I always love this song by Dixie Chicks (though the video clip might be a bit pathetic but still, to have a preggy lady in is kind of cute!). Who cares because I'd enjoy the song for its lyrics as well as its music... hehe. Hopefully I would be able to make a video of me singing this song (perhaps with ukulele too?) one fine day! *LOL*

LANDSLIDE

I took my love and I took it down
Climbed a mountain then I turned around
And I saw my reflection in the snow covered hills
Well the landslide brought me down

Oh, mirror in the sky
What is love?
Can the child within my heart rise above
Can I sail through the changing ocean tides
Can I handle the seasons of my life

Well, I've been afraid of changin'
'Cause I built my life around you
But time makes you bolder
Children get older
I'm getting older too

Well...

P.s. Aite, I'm going out now. Got to have some fun! CHEERS

Nikita at 27

Assalamu'alaikum means peace be upon you! :)

Today is the last day. I mean the last day of Nikita being 27. In Shaa Allah I'm turning 28 this midnight, which means another 2 more years to go before I reach 30!?! WUTTA??! Oh my, time is running so fast these days. I always feel like I'm just about 19 going on 20! An undergraduate engineering student who treasured the "I AM IN A BAND" lifestyle kind of thing, skipping classes, a girl who listened to emo songs a lot with that 'grumpy and easily annoyed' attitude that was so irritating especially to people around her!!

To my wonderful family, my loving boyfriend cum hubby now and my fantastic ex-bandmates ever; NAZIER, OFIE, SHASH, AZAM, YASSER (you guys are all happily married now.. YAY), I'm so SORRY for the things that I've done to all of you. I really mean it. OFIE (if you ever read this entry), you were right about my ego issue and I'd thank you for that. I'm sorry and I've forgiven you for your harsh words long long time ago (which indeed hurt me deeply).  And I hope you'll do the same. Anyway, I'd wish we could still be friends like before... Well the so-called 'rebellious grumpy' girl has become more ladylike now and hopefully she's no longer a 'headache' to some people.. HEHEHE. Despite all the negative remarks and certain dreams that are still not fulfilled, I'd thank Allah for all the unexpected achievements in life that I've made within these golden years of being YOUNG. Well few more minutes to go and I'm quite nervous! Hahha *To be exact at 7:04PM tomorrow, hence, looks like I still have like hourS left...? xo* ;)

A message to all my awesome readers out there (especially to the younger generation):

10 years - that isn't too long, my friend! Trust me. So waste not any of your precious time. Go and pursue your dreams. DREAM BIG because impossible are always possible in our 20s!❤

Ocean of Parfums (Part 2)

Assalamu'alaikum. Welcome back! HEHE ;)

I've shared on my perfume collection in the previous entry. Hence, I think I may want to have some reviews on my hubby's and would love to talk more and more about fragrance this time around! May I? *xOXo*

Bubu's fragrances

ARMANI code (EDT)
Personality: Masculine, Charismatic, Cool
Remarks: This is the perfume that will forever remind me of him, I swear! It has already become his 'signature' ever since we started to know each other! B)

paco rabanne 1 MILLION (EDT)
Personality: Masculine, Classy, Charismatic
Remarks: Its fantastic-superb-awesome aroma makes me feel like I'm married to a Millionaire, oohlala! (ok, I'm just EXAGGERATING things here... @_@)

GUCCI GUILTY (EDT)
Personality: Young, Charismatic, Fearless
Remarks: A guilty pleasure kind of scent! AHAHA. The very latest perfume in his collection so far (can you see that he hasn't yet opened its packaging?!)

Why do I prefer Eau de Parfum (EDP) more than Eau de Toilette (EDT)? Because EDP has GREATER fragrance concentration compared to EDT and hence, it is more lasting (and more 'spensive too!). As far as I know, the best brands typically release their fragrances at this concentration level (EDP). BUT CAN JUST ANYONE GIVE ME SOLID REASONS WHY MOST MASCULINE PERFUMES AVAILABLE IN STORES ARE EDTs instead of EDPs??????? *Just wondering why...*

Wearing perfumes is among the Sunnahs of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). In other words, it's among the practices of our Prophet. And do you know that good aromas also help us a lot to stay focus? Indeed. *LOL* However, there are lots of arguments about wearing the alcohol-based perfumes for the Muslims. Well who am I to discuss the matter in detail! But as far as I am concerned, it is permissible to wear them due to the following reasons:

  • Alcohol contain in the ingredients is used to perfume the body, NOT for drinking!
  • In Islam, it is not necessary to consider all things declared to be forbidden as impure (but all that is impure is deemed forbidden for sure!). The same concept applied to drugs and also to gold & silk (only forbidden to be worn by men but still, they're considered as pure to be touched)
  • Furthermore, it is known that alcohol used in the production of most perfumes nowadays (mass production) is produced from sugarcane by way of distillation. So it's definitely NOT the natural alcohol. But according to some Muslim scholars, even the natural alcohol is considered as clean
  • The proportion of alcohol used in the perfumes is small, thus, it will NOT affect the purity of a Muslim's prayers

There are also limitations in wearing perfumes for Muslim women. And honestly I'm still in my learning process to be a good Muslimah... huhu. So what I do now is to wear them mostly at HOME (especially in front of my hubby... tehee!). Anyway, the concept used in Islam is very simple. It is already clear between the LAWFUL and the FORBIDDEN. And if you're caught somewhere in the middle (in doubt), just LEAVE it!!! ^_^

Wallahu a'lam. May Allah have mercy on me upon writing this article.

Ocean of Parfums (Part 1)

Assalamu'alaikum, hi ya olls!!!

Since APRIL is a special month to me (my birthday month.. yeah!), hence, I wish I would be able to post as many articles as possible for this month. Furthermore, my beloved hubby flew back to the Middle East about few days ago and therefore, looks like I'm going to have ample time for my blog at least for few weeks!! HUHUHU. *Though another side of me admit that I started to miss Bubu so badly...*

Well actually this is among something that I would really love to share with you since the beginning! In my previous article titled, "Oh! Lavender", posted in February 2013, I did mention that I am an EXTREME fragrance lover (ooopsieee.. my sincere apology to some of you for having that article written in my mother tongue but I promise it'll only happen once in a while, ok? :p). So I'm going to 'expose' you on my favorite perfumes (those that I wear nowadays...). FYI, I seldom bought myself perfumes ever since I started to know my hubby up until now. I'd mean it, seriously!!! Why..? My hubby usually transits in UAE and hence, the duty free Dubai International Airport is just like his second home... HAHHA. On top of that, my hubby has a really good sense in selecting fragrances that would suit me best without failed!! *LOL* I've been to Dubai in December 2011 (for the first time) and I can tell you that the airport was AWESOME. I LVE Emirates, by the way :D

The perfumes that I wear nowadays; PRADA Candy, DKNY Golden Delicious, Trésor Midnight Rose, LACOSTE Touch of Pink, BURBERRY THE BEAT and an exclusive Arabic Perfume (without brand... tehee!).

CURRENT not-so-many COLLECTION

Honestly I kind of like the sweet and fruity smell compared to the strong ones (by default!). However, I admit that the strong and classy ladylike smell works best for evening occasions. And of course I would prefer EDP more!! Anyway, PRADA Candy and DKNY Golden Delicious are the latest in my collection so far. So what's now..? Allow me to describe them in my own words ^_^

PRADA Candy (EDP)
Personality: Young, Sexy, Wild
Remarks: I think it smells more like FLOWERBYKENZO after few hours of wearing it. Love it and 200% agreed that the scent lasts longer compared to others :)

DKNY Golden Delicious (EDP)
Personality: Classy, Mature, Sweet
Remarks: It is rich with the aromas of 'Golden Delices' apple mixed with white roses, Casablanca lilies, vanilla orchid and lily of the valley (so far that I can remember of...). Some people might be allergic to the scent of lilies but I'm so fortunate to be IN LOVE with them! *Wink*

LACOSTE Touch of Pink (EDT)
Personality: Young, Energetic, Charismatic
Remarks: The first perfume ever bought by my hubby back in 2005 (he was just came back from Dubai at that time). The reason why I keep on buying it is because of the sentimental smell that truly reminds me of the early days when we were just started our relationship! And can I also say that it makes me feel like I'm still the same 20-year old girl everytime I wear it..? AHAHHA

Trésor Midnight Rose (EDP)
Personality: Classy, Mysterious, Seductive
Remarks: The kind of smell that I love and perhaps it's also because of Emma Watson (not to forget the cute purple rose too... hehe)

BURBERRY THE BEAT (EDP)
Personality: Charismatic, Sexy, Romantic
Remarks: The one that I love the most! It was my wedding gift and I just couldn't believe that I managed not to finish it until now. It reminds me of our honeymoon in Bali Island

Arabic Perfume
Personality: Classy, Sweet, Seductive
Remarks: Bought this in Sharjah, UAE. I miss Emirates badly :(

Well I also used to wear paco rabanne Lady MILLION, BVLGARI Rose Essentielle and ESCADA Sunset Heat last time. Except for BVLGARI, Trésor and the sweet Arabic perfume, others were all bought by my dear hubby ;)

the expatriate's wife natashanordin.blogspot.com
What I wore PREVIOUSly

paco rabanne Lady MILLION (EDP)
Personality: Classy, Sexy, Wild
Remarks: It smells SUPERB. Used to be my 'signature' and it reminds me of year 2011 (when I was still working with Sime Darby)

BVLGARI Rose Essentielle (EDP)
Personality: Classy, Romantic, Unique
Remarks: I know the smell is quite strong but still, it reminds me a lot of my wedding day

ESCADA Sunset Heat (EDT)
Personality: Young, Sweet, Energetic
Remarks: I wore this during my university years. How I miss the good old days.. huh

Well it's nearly 2AM and I would definitely have the courage to continue on my writing if it's NOT because of that!! Heheheh. Aite fellas, In Shaa Allah will be seeing you in my next post on "Ocean of Parfums (Part 2)". Good night, World..! مع السلامة
